The Venue

Our corner of California paradise nestled on 43 Mitchell Street in Glasgow City Centre. The restaurant, bar and events space gives a nod to the lifestyle and culture of California. The Job

The Reservations Manager is a critical role in the management team at Rusk & Rusk, overseeing the booking process for all aspects of the business. They will be the first point of contact for all inbound enquiries for the restaurant and the event space. It is the responsibility of the post holder to ensure that all enquires are dealt with in an efficient, professional and timely manner. The Reservation Manager will be accountable for ensuring weekly bookings are organised in the most efficient manner possible in order to maximise covers.

The Person

The right candidate will have significant experience in restaurant reservation management, particularly within high calibre and high-volume venues. As the first point of contact for all inbound enquiries, the right candidate should be highly personable, engaging and a confident decision maker. A professional appearance at all times is essential and the right person for the role will be one that takes pride in their work and that is highly capable of managing a multi-faceted workload.

Duties and Responsibility

Total Customer Service

  • Consistently provide a quality product & customer service experience that delivers total customer satisfaction

  • Model and create an environment that delivers complete customer satisfaction

  • Respond quickly and positively to customer concerns, reactive to solve problems before they reach our guests

  • Maintain an organised workspace that allows for fluid communication

Reservation Management

  • Maximise covers across all dates by ensuring bookings are co-ordinated as efficiently as possible

  • Ensure that all guest enquires are dealt with professionally and to the standard set out by Rusk & Rusk

  • Maintain brand standards of private dining spaces

  • Keep both Kitchen & FOH management fully abreast of any and all upcoming bookings

  • Liaise with continuously with line managers to maintain accurate internal communication

  • Responsible for the accurate upkeep and maintenance of the Reservations Tracker


  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in reservations, gained in a similar high volume, high quality operation

  • You should be well versed in contemporary reservation systems, notably Restaurant Diary

  • Computer literacy is essential, particularly in the use of Word/Pages, Excel/Numbers
